"OP" - Exhibition featuring CHRIS RECCARDI & LYNNE NAYLOR
m modern proudly presents"OP"an exhibition of original artworks from Chris Reccardi & Lynne Nayloropens this Saturday, October 14th, 7-10 pm
Hello Everyone,
Please join us this Saturday, October 14th from 7 – 10 pm, for a special evening and unveiling of the highly anticipated exhibition ”OP”. This retro inspired visual treat features original paintings from Chris Reccardi and Lynne Naylor and is sure to please the most discriminating mid-century modern fan as well as everyone else. Vibrant colors, meticulous execution and clever subject matter have caused these two artists to make the seamless transition to the fine art world and develop an instant collector base as well as waiting list for their original works.
Chris and Lynne are icons in the world of cartoon animation having worked on such cartoon classics as Ren & Stimpy, Powerpuff Girls and Samuri Jack (just to mention a few). This artists reception will showcase this husband and wife duos first new complete body of work since their sold out exhibition "GALAXIE" of last year. These paintings may possibly sell out prior to the actual opening of the show. For this reason, we strongly encourage you to email us (complete with phone number) to be added to their exhibition preview list. This will provide a better opportunity for you to acquire one of these beautiful works of art.
Meet and greet Chris and Lynne at the reception and visit their web sites by clicking on their names above (these sites also include their bio information too).
Again, we thank SMIRNOFF for sponsoring this exhibition and providing complimentary specialty Vodka cocktails for the occasion. DJ Victor Rodriguez will be spinning that night too for your listening pleasure. Come to enjoy the art, hang out at the party, or to simply realize the m modern experience if you have not visited our galleries before.
We hope to see you there!
NOTE: We hope to have the exhibition online for viewing over the next few days, so please check our website frequently at www.mmodern.com .

JOE LEDBETTER & ALEX MEYER SOLO SHOWS
m modern proudly presents SUPERSTITOUS a solo show of Original Artwork by JOE LEDBETTER & A STRANGE AND LUSTY HEART a solo show of Original Paintings by ALEX MEYER this Saturday, September 30th, 7-10 pm |
Hello Everyone, Please join us for two solo exhibitions that open this weekend featuring SUPERSTITIOUS a solo show of original works by JOE LEDBETTER and A STRANGE AND LUSTY HEART a solo show of original works by ALEX MEYER. Both artist receptions to be held this Saturday, September 30th , from 7- 10 pm . Don't miss this opportunity to meet both JOE LEDBETTER & ALEX MEYER in person.
*** IF you haven't heard of JOE LEDBETTER in the past year or two, then you are either hiding under a rock, not familiar with the L.A. Art Scene or perhaps just need a more formal introduction. Joe's numberous SOLD OUT shows have people from all over the world scrambling to get the opportunity to own one of his fun, playful and extremely well excuted paintings. SUPERSTITOUS is his most abitious show to date (according to Joe himself) and is inspired by MYTH, LEGEND and FANTASY. JOE's multiple characters have been taking the toy world by storm and, judging from current EBAY prices, selling out much faster than they can be produced. The real treasures though are his much coveted original paintings. We can't guaranty you will be able to obtain a painting from the SUPERSTITIOUS exhibition, however, if you email us fast at nailor@earthlink.net you may be one of the lucky ones to eventually hang one of these on your walls. NOTE: We are hoping to receive a preview from JOE in the next day or two and will be making calls to those of you on the waiting list. We are also hoping to offer around 5 or so originals for sale at the gallery the evening of the reception for people that make the trip to Palm Springs. Again, please email to nailor@earthlink.net or call us at 760 774-8474 to be added to the JOE LEDBETTER WAIT LIST.
*** We will be also be featuring A STRANGE AND LUSTY HEART, a solo show of tantalizing original pieces by ALEX MEYER that are given no justice in this email (sorry for the poor jpeg quality). To briefly step into the mind of ALEX MEYER all one has to do is read his biography below: Born in 1974, the conspicuous vitality in cartoons and comic book imagery held an early fascination on the young mind of Alex Meyer. However, it wasn't until much later that he abandoned a practical career course and committed himself to art. Graduating from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver with a BFA in Illustration, he has strived to improve as a painter and illustrator. His paintings have been shown at DC Gallery and Th'Ink Tank of Denver, and he has participated in group shows at La Luz de Jesus and m modern gallery. A mixture of cartoons, pinup, and fantasy art, his work is a product of the rigors of technique haunted by the cravings of the flesh, of proportion in conflict with depravity, of optimism coupled with irony. The aim of this petty psychologist can best be stated in the abstract: to take it to the naked edge - and, of course... beyond!
*** Our very own (OK, so what if he is a big name Hollywood DJ too!) DJ VICTOR RODRIGUEZ will be spinning the night away at the opening reception. Also, thanks to SMIRNOFF for the continued support and sponsorship of our exhibitions and look for some special Vodka cocktails being served that evening. Come to the reception to enjoy the amazing artwork, visit Palm Springs and relax with a refreshing cocktail or two (no more than that please - our attorney's had us put that last note in).
NOTE: PLEASE FIND OUR WEB SITE AT www.mmodern.com AS THE WWW.MMODERNGALLERY.COM LINK IS CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF BEING TRANSFERRED TO THE OTHER LINK.
As always this opening reception is free and open to the public NOTE: Children are welcome with adult supervision and viewer discretion is advised. Sincerely, Jay, MiShell & David m modern email: nailor@earthlink.net phone: 760 416-3611 |
